Homestead-Miami, FL — Jimmie Johnson completed his "Drive for Five" by making NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car racing history again Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway and winning the 2010 Chase for the Cup championship. Driving his familiar, Purolator-equipped #48 Lowe's Chevrolet Impala for Hendrick Motorsports, Johnson is now the only driver in NASCAR history to have won five consecutive Sprint Cup titles. It was also the second straight Cup crown for a Hendrick Chevy running on Purolator components. Johnson finished second Sunday and outran his chief competitor Denny Hamlin at Homestead-Miami to establish a new record for the second year in a row. Hamlin, driving a Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing, settled for second in Cup points just 34 back. Johnson's record-setting performance also brought team owner Rick Hendrick his 10th NASCAR owner's crown.
