LAS VEGAS, NV — Four time defending NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car racing championship driver Jimmie Johnson won his second consecutive race of the 2010 season here Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Driving his Purolator-equipped Lowe's Chevrolet Impala for Hendrick Motorsports, Johnson led the final 16 laps to win by 1.874 of a second to take the checkered flag first as he did last week in California. Johnson made a late-race pass of his Hendrick teammate Jeff Gordon, who had dominated the race leading 218 of the 267 laps. Gordon, another Purolator driver and four-time Cup champion, finished third in his Purolator-filtered Chevy.
