Jimmie Johnson Increases Chase Lead with Win at Lowe's Motor Speedway

Charlotte, NC - Jimmie Johnson completed a weekend sweep driving his Purolator-equipped Lowe's Chevrolet Impala SS to victory at the NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America, at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Johnson extended his NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase lead to 90 points over second place Mark Martin, who finished 17th at Lowe's. Kasey Kahne finished third, and Purolator-equipped Jeff Gordon came in fourth bringing Gordon to third place in the Chase, 135 points behind teammate Johnson. With five races left in the Chase playoff, Jimmie Johnson is even closer to claiming a record fourth consecutive title.
