Jimmie Johnson Expands Points Lead on Purolator

Martinsville, VA – Jimmie Johnson finished second in his Purolator-equipped Lowe’s Chevrolet Impala SS for Hendrick Motorsports in Round 6 of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship at Martinsville Speedway. Johnson expanded his Chase points lead to 118 with four races left in the series. This three-time defending Sprint Cup champion finds his Hendrick Motorsports teammates Mark Martin second in points and four-time series champion Jeff Gordon third – all on Purolator filters. The Chase moves to Talladega, AL next weekend for Round 7 of the season-ending Chase.
