MARTINSVILLE, VA, March 29, 2009 — Jimmie Johnson employed a "bump-and-won" strategy here Sunday at Martinsville Speedway in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Goody's 500 race to score his first victory of the '09 season driving his Purolator-equipped Lowe's Chevrolet Impala for Hendrick Motorsports. Johnson, the three-time defending series champion took the lead with 16 laps left on the tricky 0.526-mile oval track. It was the 41st Cup win of Johnson's career in a Hendrick Chevy. Jeff Gordon, a four-time Cup champion and a Hendrick teammate of Johnson's, finished fourth and now holds an 89-point lead in the series driving his Purolator sponsored DuPont Chevrolet Impala.
