Bulletin Number: FP09-03
SUBJECT: Cartridge Oil Filters L25608, L25609, and L25702.
Purolator Filters NA LLC has identified a potential installation concern with Toyota cartridge oil filters L25608, L25609, and L25702. These filters fit various 2008-09 Toyota and Lexus models.
The oil filter housing centertube may become disconnected from the Relief Valve Assembly when removing the old oil filter. The following procedures are recommended during removal of the oil filter.
- Remove cartridge oil filter housing cap located on engine block.
- Inspect inside of housing cap assembly to ensure the centertube did not disconnect from assembly and become lodged inside the oil filter.
- If centertube disconnected from the Assembly and remains inside of old oil filter, remove centertube from oil filter and re-secure to Assembly by pushing dimpled ends down onto the assembly.
